The KWL Crows hockey team headed to Kelowna to take part in the 4th Annual TRUE Charity Hockey Tourney to benefit Ronald McDonald House from May 27 to 29, 2011. The Crows won the Most Money Raised for Charity award by bringing in $4,230 for Ronald McDonald House. In their first game on Friday night, the Crows faced off against AECOM and found themselves up against a very worthy competitor but came from behind and took it 4-3 in a very tight, fast paced game. On Saturday afternoon, the Crows played their second game of the round robin against EBA Engineering Consultants Ltd. The Crows came out of the gate firing and never looked back, beating their opponent handily in an 11-0 rout. Saturday night the Crows played their last game of the round robin against Corix, who they thought would to be their toughest opponent in the division. Although the game started off slowly (1-1 after the first), the Crows went on to win 7-1. With this win, the Crows won their division and moved onto the championship round, finding themselves up against the Town of Osoyoos in an early Sunday morning match-up. The Crows ultimately faced a better team in Osoyoos, who knocked the Crows out of the tournament and went on to win the 16-team tournament and the coveted Corix Cup. Great showing Crows! Until next year!
