KWL Wins Sustainability Award

KWL's Stoltz Bluff Restoration project was awarded APEGBC's 2008 Sustainability Award. This project involved the design and construction of river works (new channel, terrace and berm) on the Cowichan River, adjacent to Stoltz Bluffs. It is the largest stream restoration project on Vancouver Island in over 20 years.

The Sustainability Award recognizes the important contribution that engineering and geoscience make to the well-being of human life and the ecosystem. It also recognizes the positive role of human qualities such as ethics, imagination, reason and common sense in achieving this end. The award is open to projects that demonstrate a commitment to, and understanding of, the concept of sustainability.
